Milled coins production commenced in full earnest from 1662, following earlier attempts during the reign of Elizabeth Ist and Charles II.
Peter Bloudeau was given authority to produce coins using machinery which over the years has very productive. In the industrial revolution production of coinage was increased ten fold due to the demands on money.
